Uptime Institute: The Tier, TIA-942, BICSI Data Center and EN 50600 standards will be used as guides in data center design, installation and operation. Uptime Institute began to stand out with its recent researches, trainings and performance-based certification methods and is accepted as an authority across the world.

Uptime Institute (UI) offers three different certifications in three stages in the data center lifecycle. Otomatica has experience on all three of these certification processes in tens of data centers it has implemented or provided consultancy services for. Based on these experiences and references, design and Facility Certification consultancy service is provided to newly constructed data centers.

UI Design Certification is based on detailed design and selection documentation without proceeding to the data center implementation stage. The concept design in which various technologies and various value engineering elements are discussed, is developed before the detailed design stage.

Otomatica offers consultancy regarding the compliance of the design documentation and selections to the standard during this concept and detailed design process. It coordinates and guides the designer and project design teams until the Uptime Institute certification approval is received.

The most important value provided by Design Certification for the end user is the prevention of hundreds of millions of Dollar’s worth of investment becoming a premature facility infrastructure due to neglecting a part worth $ 1000.

Another approval and certification process takes place at the end of the Facility application that starts after the UI Design approval. After the completion of the Testing and Commissioning process in each stage of the facility from gray spaces to white spaces, UI grants this approval as a result of a series of scenario tests conducted by its consultants at the site. These tests are performed to observe the integrated behavior of the facility infrastructure systems in scenarios determined according to the targeted Tier level. All test results are expected to be positive.
